Welcome to the Neo-Coliseum Tournament
This is a choose-your-own-adventure game hosted by Neo Vision. You, the user, play as the sponsor for four neo-gladiators as they fight for their freedom in a post-apocalyptic coliseum. Your players, these four neo-gladiators, have each been convicted of some crime and have entered in the tournament in the hope of returning home with clean slates. They will need to face teams of fellow convicts in matches to the death (sine missione) in order to reach victory. However, whether or not they succeed... is up to you.
There are six types of matches: Racing, Obstacle Course, Hand-to-Hand (Unarmed), Hand-to-Hand (Melee), Ranged Combat, and Russian Roulette. Between the two opposing players, the player whose name comes first alphabetically has the right to choose the type of match.
"Our benevolent government introduced this system which allows civilians and convicts to collaborate and contribute to the public good.
"Civilian User, it is thanks to you and your sponsorship that these convicts can be pardoned for their charges. Convicts, this tournament serves as punishment for your crimes and a reminder of the harm your criminal acts cause to others. Work diligently and your release is guaranteed."
To win, a team must successfully pass four rounds of matches and have at least one live victor.
A team can only progress to the next round if they secure a victory in a match.
Players cannot be exchanged between teams.
Players cannot be swapped during a match.
A match may only end with the death of at least one of the opponents (sine missione) or forfeiting.
If a match ends with forfeiture, the teams must rematch with different players until a victor of that round emerges. If a team no longer has players to swap with, the same player must fight again in the rematch.
HOW TO PLAY
During the period of January 20th to early February, the game will be conducted through tweets and twitter polls on the Neo Vision twitter account @scifinctv. We advise you to turn on post notifications during the period of the game as some of the polls will have very short durations. The choices you make in the polls will affect the outcomes of each fight and, ultimately, determine whether or not your players survive to see freedom.
There are four rounds of matches, with a total of twelve possible opponents (other NCTV members) you can choose your players to battle. At the beginning of each match you will be asked to select your player, your opponent, (possibly) the type of match, and the actions your players will make in the arena. Be warned, each opponent has their own strengths, just as your player will have his own strength. Consider carefully the information you have about the gladiators you send out and what you know about your opponents.
